Join us for an evening with queer writer Kim Narby, author of the debut novel SATURN RETURNING, in conversation with writer Mia Arias Tsang.

A smoldering, soul-splitting debut about queer friendship, love, and the relationships that shape us, SATURN RETURNING follows three women through a decade of desire, distance, and celestial chaos.

Jordan Caleb is a freshman at McCallen College when she meets Trace. From the moment the confident, tattooed Trace compliments Jordan’s Alanis Morissette T-shirt, their friendship feels fated and electrically charged. When the two friends meet Silvia, a mercurial transfer student who immediately catches Trace’s eye, their instant attraction eclipses the nascent pull between Jordan and Trace, forming a messy constellation among the three women.

Over the course of a decade, their orbits send them to opposite coasts. Jordan builds a life in New York City, while Trace and Silvia get engaged in Seattle, yet all three remain linked by the gravitational pull of their shared past. As they approach thirty and the astrological upheaval of their Saturn return, their bond splinters when Trace calls Jordan with a shocking revelation, exposing a web of heartache, secrets, and unspoken desires.

Moving between New York and Seattle, SATURN RETURNING explores the complicated paths of human connection, queer identity, and enduring friendship. Kim Narby’s emotionally charged debut asks how we define ourselves against the relationships that have shaped our lives and whether it is possible to escape the orbit of the people we once loved.

Kim Narby is a queer writer from Seattle. Her work has appeared in Write or Die and People Magazine. She has organized with the New York City Dyke March and received support from the McCormack Writing Center, formerly the Tin House Summer Workshop. Her debut novel, SATURN RETURNING, was published by the Sapph-Lit imprint of Bindery Books in May 2026. She is represented by Jo Ramsay at Transatlantic Agency. Kim lives in Brooklyn with her cocker spaniel, Georgia.

Mia Tsang is a writer, freelance editor, and former biologist based in Queens, NYC. Her first book, Fragments of Wasted Devotion, is out now with Quilted Press. Her writing has been published in WITCH: Anthology edited by Michelle Tea, Autostraddle, HerStry, Copy, Bullshit Lit, and elsewhere.
